Time resolved optical spectroscopy in the pump-probe configuration is used to study femtosecond to nanosecond transient phenomena in various correlated electron systems.
Laser systems used are several sub-50 fs diode pumped Ti:sapphire oscillators with Ti:sapphire amplifiers operating at 1 and 250 kHz, with UV, visible and IR optical parametric amplifiers, enabling studies of photoinduced transient changes in reflectivity-transmission in the range between 0.1 – 3 eV.
White-light broadband probes are also available spanning 1.1-2 eV and 1.6-2.6 eV ranges. In collaboration with Center of excellence in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology pump-probe experiments in external magnetic field up to 7 T are also possible.
